"Nomads Roam the Fertile Crescent"(around 6000 B.C.)
from Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer
A narration by Sarah Ward (age 9) Feb., 2004

For years, nomads had gone from place to place to hunt and gather. But one day, they stumbled upon a place we now call the Fertile Crescent. They found that the soil was fertile and there were lots of animals to hunt, so many of them decided to live there. Later, they learned to farm and build houses and live about the same way we do now.
