Once Egypt was in four parts, and all four parts were often at war with each other. There were some battles fought and lots of land taken over, until Egypt became only two parts. Eventually, the king of Upper Egypt and the king of Lower Egypt began fighting. The king of Upper Egypt, King Menes, also called King Narmer, won and took over Lower Egypt. Then he wore the crown of the defeated king on top of his head with his crown.
